The College is recognised by the Gloucestershire Federation of Colleges as the lead College for media in the county, has excellent results in formal education and a proven track record with the professional media and corporate sectors.

Managed by a board, the Digital Media Advisory Group, the Academy is gaining a reputation for high quality training. The board comprises Aardman Animations' executive chairman, Dave Sproxton; chief executive of Blue Egg Studios, Jill Scott; Laurelgrove productions director, Steve Makin, Red Collar Productions managing director, Keith Littler; the senior planner of Brann, Matthew Fitzsimmons; Star Internet director, Mark Sunner; freelance designer from the University of Gloucestershire, Tim Geoghegan, freelance editor and lecturer, Luke Wiles, and Pam Hayes, the well respected education and management consultant. Cirencester College is represented by College governor, Charlie Lewis and is chaired by the College's Head of Media, Andy Freedman.

Successful training and production projects have received funding from The Film Council, Arts Council, local authorities, national lottery and Gloucestershire Learning and Skills Council who have supported this initiative through LID.
